GSB - EDC investiture ceremony and entrepreneurial power talk was organized on 12.3.2020, 11:30am to 1:30 Pm at GSB Auditorium. The program was started with the Tamiz Thai Vazthu. The welcome address was delivered by Dr.S.Sundar, Director, GSB. The chief guest profile was introduced to the audience by Ms. Soumya Sanil of Taylors of GSB. Shri.R.M.P.Jawarhar, Executive Director, TREC – STEP was felicitated with a bouquet, shawl and Memento. The newly selected office bearers of EDC was handed over their batch and installed into the cell by the Chief Guest. The Annual Report of the cell was presented by Mr.S.Saravanan, Faculty Co-ordinator GSB - EDC. Mr.U.Arunachalam, Taylors of GSB presented his website called “Tamil Vandi.com”. After that, the Chief Guest shred his education and professional backgrounds that how he got into to the entrepreneurship domain. The guest presented an elaborate account of his experience over 3 decades in a lucid manner. He appreciated the initiates of GSB. EDC and energetically presented his TREC-STEP experiences through various stories of real life entrepreneurs whom he have seen them as a small time entrepreneurs. He emphasised the opportunities for the present generation students and articulated the need for being more industry relevant and socially awareness. He stressed that any defined business venture must have sustainability and the capacity to commercialize. Also, it is important that an entrepreneur has to lead the crowd and not able to be one among the crowd.
He stressed that in the present world, “not being an entrepreneur is risky”. The key entrepreneurial traits are self-driven, taking initiative and aim to think big. He has mentioned about how the world’s top B-School, namely Harvard Business School differentiated MBA (Management) and MBA (Entrepreneurship). The key difference was that MBA (Management) was based on achieving results with the given/limited resources. MBA (Entrepreneurship) was based on achieving results without any resources. He shared few entrepreneurship stories to get the audience motivated towards entrepreneurship. The stellar point was that he asked us to respect and motivate the entrepreneurs on the budding stage rather after success. The students really enriched with the opportunity of listing to Shri.R.M.P.Jawahar, a veteran in Entrepreneurship education. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed the by the Faculty Coordinator of EDC.
