Gnanam School of Business is always trying its level best to improve its performance by keeping the benchmark of pan nation and global standards. The 11th Batch of GSB filled up with young aspirants of the MBA program with lots of expectations and enthusiasm. The students are solidly given the foundation via a Bridge Course Programme that covered the basic concepts such as Accounting, Statistics, Communication, and Basic Business Knowledge. The coverage of these concepts is giving a solid awareness, exposure, and strengthening their orientation towards academics. The bridge course conducted from 19.08.2109 to 26.08.2019 in a successful manner.
As a part of the legacy of GSB, Parivarthan is a program, en elite in nature and gives a basic understanding of GSB and its functioning. The program is scheduled for 29th August 2019 to 31st August 2019. The first day started with the stellar introduction about GSB and its Academic Norms of GSB by Dr.A.Ananth and Mr.S.Manikandan. The students were detailed in-depth about its academic norms semester wise and a wonderful orientation inculcated on them. Followed to that, Prof.J.Muralai Subramanian from Kuviyam Consultants conducted a Self-Discovery Programme for about 02 Horus that enable the students to open up and express themselves.
Mr.Sandeep Ramakrishnan, MD, Vaikunth Knits invited to elaborate the students on Industry Expectations. The objective is to orient the students about industry standards, employability skills, etc., to make them aware and strive for industry-ready professionals. The students understand the information very well and recognized that they need to hone their talent sharply. Mr.Sandeep Ramakrishan is a trained professional known very well in the academic and professional circles. The last session of the day is planned with the emphasis on the “importance of research and project in MBA.” The session is taken by Shri.M.Jegan, Alumni – GSB who is currently working as a Research Scholar, National Institute of Technology, Trichy.
The second day of the Parivarthan began on 30th August 2019 by 09:00 am. The first two sessions were handled by Dr.M.Chitra, GSB. It is an Ice Breaking Session. The students are put into the group’s works, games, activities to work with each other through lots of management games, and activities. The objective is to enhance the talent of the students by getting along with each other and breaking their communication and attitude barrier. The session is a huge success. Later, the ice-breaking session continued in the afternoon by Dr.K.Subramani. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn through activities in a full-fledged manner.
The third day begun by morning 09:00 am where the Campus Norms and Life @ GSB. The session is handled by Dr.R.Thirumurugan, GSB. The students are duly instructed about their class conduct, residence conduct and various other norms followed at GSB explained in the session in detail. The next session is aimed to give a detailed orientation about the various events and clubs at Gnanam School of Business that is unique and pivotal. It is a benchmark activity that will help the students to develop themselves through various student-run programs guided by the faculty members. The second-year students who lead the clubs currently met the fresher and gave a brief account of detail to them. It gave a good picture to the students about the concept and practice blend superlatively done at GSB.
The next session is to give an idea about a significant domain called Training and Development and P2P (Passport and Placements) to the students. Dr.K.Subramani and Mr.B.Issac Johny, in charge of Training and Development by, jointly organized the program. The students are explained comprehensively about the Training and Development process of GSB, its support, and rigorous training modules to make them placeable. The students raised their questions and deeply engaged in the session.
The 3rd and 4th session of the scheduled during the 11:15 am to 01:15 pm. The session theme is oriented to Pedagogical approaches @ GSB and the Unique Mentoring Process. The session was handled by Prof.S.Saravanan, GSB. The students were detailed about the various methods of learning, approaches followed at GSB by the eminent faculty members. It is a holistic approach adopted at GSB, beneficial to the students. GSB’s unique and benchmarking process called Mentoring System. The faculty members will be allotted with 6 to 7 students whom they will take care of in 360 degrees and help them to groom academically and personally. The students have noted down the points deeply and clarified their doubts immediately.
In the afternoon, there is a session allotted for Alumni Interaction. The purpose is to motivate the freshers by their Alumni who had undergone the rigorous and meaningful process in recent times.Mr.Gautam, Marketing Analyst, ZOHO from the Socrates of GSB (2017-2019) visited the portals of GSB to interact with the 11th Batch of GSB by taking time from his busy schedule. It was an amazing chance for the freshers to meet their Alma matter and clarify their doubts, coping mechanisms, experience sharing, and overcome difficulties. The session is thoroughly enjoyed by the freshers and a great interaction happened too.
The 6th session of the day is scheduled as “Business Etiquettes and Table Manners” handled by Dr.S.P.S.Aruldoss, CEO GSB. Dr.S.P.S.Aruldoss, CEO-GSB has always weighed the importance high on professional and business etiquettes and table manners, being the doyen from the services industry. The students are strictly instructed to follow them intact with full involvement. It is an opportunity for the students to learn these value additions, which is exquisite @GSB.
The last session of the entire Parivarthan Programme is fully fun-filled and playful. The Decennials of GSB (current second-year students) arranged a Treasure Hunt program for their juniors. It is full of joy, energy, and happiness to the freshers, quite memorable and refreshing.
With the happy note, the three-day intensive PARIVARTHAN Programme has ended in a successful manner followed by the Novice Party@Auditorium, GSB. The 10th Batch of GSB, called Decennials of GSB has offered a rock-solid Welcome Party to their Juniors. The program has begun by 06:00 pm and got over with a great note of happiness at 08:30 pm. “Knowledge is happiness because to know - broad, deep knowledge is to know true ends” Helen Keller.
